IRENE
Hello, my name is Irene Macdonald. My last name is not a pseudonym, but the result of my marriage with Alex, the Scotsman.
In our "international" household in Axams (Upper Austrian meets Scotsman in Tirol) the English and German languages are lived daily, which benefits all family members in the sense of "learning by doing".
After graduating from university, I began to teach in Adult Education, to give private lessons, and to work as a multilingual tourist guide after having completed the appropriate additional training. After my maternity leave, English lessons for nursing staff, emergency services, dieticians and medical staff developed into my speciality in the course of my work at various colleges and universities and several medical practices. Apart from general English for young and old, beginners to advanced students, I frequently give lessons in hotels and restaurants all over Austria and South Tirol. One of my current projects, which gives me a lot of pleasure, is teaching English at a Tyrolean elementary school.
Meeting a lot of nice people who share their experiences and knowledge with me in the English lessons makes my job most enjoyable.
A win-win situation!

After finishing school in Linz and a few stopovers in Austria and abroad, I completed my studies in Romance Languages and English in Innsbruck. The language studies were not only an important step for my professional future, but are definitely a big advantage when travelling, sight-seeing all over the world as well as going to the theatre, watching movies and series in original language, just to name a few of my hobbies. But the best thing that I didn't know at that time was that I would get to know my future husband when teaching English in a Tyrolean company.
